Mohona Ganguly was raised in a Bengali Indian household in Altadena, California. Her family hails from Kolkata, the capital of the province of West Bengal in India, and she grew up speaking Bengali. She graduated from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial and Labor Relations in 2024, and is currently pursuing her Masters in Public Administration at the Maxwell School at Syracuse University.
At Cornell, she was a Workers Institute Research Fellow, conducting research on labor practices in Colonial India, and served as Treasurer for the university's chapter of the South Asian educational nonprofit, Asha For Education. In her free time, you may find her practicing Indian Classical dance, reading, baking, watching movies, or hanging out with friends.
