Ivy Gomes, also known as Shruti by her 'dak nam,' is a junior at Boston University pursuing a dual degree in Business and International Relations. Born and raised in Queens, New York, with roots in Dhaka, Bangladesh, Ivy’s cultural heritage inspires her passion for social justice and advocacy. She leads as the Director of Marketing for the South Asian Student Association at BU and serves as the North Atlantic Coalition Leader for Girl Up, United Nations, where she works to empower young leaders through advocacy and community-building initiatives.

Ivy has also lobbied for gender and racial justice with Girls for Gender Equity and is currently conducting research on youth social capital at BU’s CERES Institute. In her free time, Ivy enjoys writing poetry for small online magazines, painting watercolor landscapes, and thrifting.
